This morning there was ice on my porch...

... in Houston.

But that DOES NOT mean that global warming isn't real. This year's brutal winter weather is just that: weather. Weather refers to day-to-day local changes. Climate refers to average weather over a long period of time.

Not to mention that the temperature changes often is talking about the average change in water temperature. It takes a huge amount of energy to heat the whole ocean by several degrees.
